JUST FOR FUN: HAIR SHIMMERS
I've started a new venture that may not seem related on first glance, but as you move through grief (and even start looking for new love), you may find it necessary to make new social connections. I've found a product that helps that happen in a natural way. Read about it here.
A Hair Shimmer is a very thin colored fiber that is tied to your hair, one Shimmer to one strand of hair. It can stay in your hair upwards of two months and is an inexpensive, non chemical and very cool-looking way to spice up your hair (and maybe your life!).
No one likes to think about buying life insurance because the thought of its ultimate usage brings forth images of one's own mortality. And, if you are young and healthy, it is hard to imagine dying and leaving your family members alone to fend for themselves.
Funds from life insurance DO NOT make the pain of losing a spouse any less; however, what it does accomplish is that the widow/er is afforded the luxury of time and space to grieve in a healthy and self-paced manner.
Read four case studies of young widows and widowers who found themselves without the benefit of life insurance and how that affected their ability to work through their grief.

Aileen Sheehan:
Keeping Memories Alive
Aileen is a master seamstress who has come up with a wonderful idea that allows a small piece of your loved one to remain in your life every day.
If you send her an article (or more than one) of your loved one's clothing, she can make it into a purse, a key holder or a decorative pillow. For children who may have lost a parent or any other adult to whom they were close, Aileen can create a stuffed animal or soft pillow with which a child can snuggle. For more detailed information, e-mail Aileen directly.

SUPPORT FOR WIDOWS
VISION: Our vision is to be a strong network of widows, empowering our members through shared experience. We open the door to a new world for widows, ensuring they don't go through their experience alone, but with life-long connections and lasting support.
MISSION: We support widows through the grieving process and beyond by providing life transition resources and immediate peer connections, facilitating the healing process and allowing them to rebuild and re-engage in life.
I am honored to serve on the Advisory Board of Hope for Widows and will be participating and providing content for the organization.
