A CHANCE TO PUBLISH YOUR OWN STORY

I have been named as an Editor of two editions of Thin Threads Stories®, which is actually a book series that embraces the best of the human spirit -- the heart and instinct in each of us that leads us toward becoming who we were meant to be. These Thin Thread stories are a collection of moments, events or decisions told in personal story form, each showing how the course of our lives can be redirected for the better. The stories encapsulate our human desire to tell our own stories and to read and relate to others through their stories.

Please visit www.thinthreads.com to read sample stories or click  to read The Balloon, The Happiest Day of My Life, or A Doubtful Christmas.

Submission Guidelines:
1. We are looking for true, inspirational stories of 1200 words or less that will make readers laugh, cry, or sigh.
2. Stories should be positive, universal, and non-controversial.
3. The "point" or "message" should be evident, without preaching.
4. No essays, commentaries, tributes, philosophical, or biographical pieces will be accepted.
5. Each story must contain the following elements:
    --Be real (non-fiction)
--Capture the essence of a thin thread event
--Evoke an emotion from the reader

Although I, in particular, am looking for stories about Grief and Recovery and Spirituality and Transformation, you may be interested in some of the other topics that include:
Business and Career; Money and Hardship; Holidays and Celebrations; Teachers and Mentors; Teens and Young Adult; and New Moms and Dads

You will be asked how you heard about Thin Threads. If you choose Ellen's blog at legacy.com; Opentohope.com; Melinda Vail; or Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, your story will come directly to me.

If you need help writing your story, I can provide assistance with the process if you will e-mail me at LNGerst@LNGerst.com.

Aileen Sheehan: Keeping Memories Alive

Aileen is a master seamstress who has come up with a wonderful idea that allows a small piece of your loved one to remain in your life every day.

If you send her an article (or more than one) of your loved one's clothing, she can make it into a purse, a wallet, a cell phone cover, a key holder, or a decorative pillow. For children, who may have lost a parent or any other adult to whom they were close, Aileen can create a stuffed animal or soft pillow with which a child can snuggle. For more detailed information e-mail Aileen directly.

These are two examples of Aileen's fine work. Purses can be made in a variety of sizes and shapes.

A FAVORITE QUOTE

"None of us is given a lifetime. We're given one day at a time.
We're given this day. Don't spend today worrying about whether
the next one's going to come or where it's going to lead.
The job is in not missing a second of today,
in the depth and the power of this very moment."
